Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 12, 2026
This page explains how BrainNap (the "app") and this website (brainnap.app) handle information. The app has not been released yet; we will review this page and update it when the app ships.
1. Data kept on your device
The settings and records the app works with — which apps you chose to block, your modes, schedules, and the summaries of your usage — are stored on your device. The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
2. Screen Time API data
The app uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (Family Controls, Device Activity, Managed Settings) to block apps. Information about which apps you used and for how long stays on the device by Apple's design, and the app does not transmit this data off your device. The developer cannot view it.
3. Analytics
To improve the app, we plan to use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (such as which screens are opened and which features are used). No personally identifying information is collected.
On this website, we plan to use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic. Google Analytics uses cookies; the data is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals. You can opt out by disabling cookies in your browser.
4. Subscription management
We plan to use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat holds App Store purchase status (purchase, renewal, cancellation) for the purpose of determining whether a subscription is active. Payment details such as card numbers are handled by Apple and are never received by us.
5. Sharing with third parties
Apart from the service providers above (Google, RevenueCat, Apple), which process data only as needed to provide the service, we do not share the information we hold with third parties. We may disclose information where required by law.
6. Deleting your data
The app will provide a way to delete the data stored on your device from within its settings. Uninstalling the app also removes the data it stored on the device.
7. Children
The app is designed for people managing their own phone use. If a child uses it, please do so with the consent of a parent or guardian.
8. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as the law or the service changes. Significant changes will be posted on this page along with an updated date.
